We’re In Stupid Love With Lady Gaga

stupid love
The Queen of Pop is back to take her throne with her new single ‘Stupid Love.’

The last the world heard a new Lady Gaga album was in 2016 when she released soft rock album, Joanne. In early 2017 we got the surprise drop of “The Cure” when she stepped in last minute to headline Coachella.

We then of course got shook by A Star is Born, where we dove off the deep end into the shallows because the soundtrack was that good. Even then, the music was curated for Ally rather than Gaga.

Since then…nothing. Three years of no Gaga and the fans have been begging and begging. There was a brief leak of the song back in January, but today we have the full song AND an (inter)stellar music video to go with it.

In the video we see Queen stop an alien war with a bop of a song. And if you ask us… seems legit. But that’s not what you should be fixated on. Notice at the end we see a still of a jacket that says “Kindness Punk” and then a screen that says “Chromatica.”

I think it’s safe to assume that her upcoming 6th studio album is called Chromatica. We’re also assuming that ‘Kindness Punk’ is an upcoming song.

Either way, we have one way to explain this new Gaga era…

White Reaper: The Love They Deserve

Calling all indie-loving-garage-punk-rockers! Do we have a band for you! Swinging on in from Louisville, Kentucky we urge you to give White Reaper the love and attention they deserve (which is all of it!)

Starting in 2015 the band consists of Tony Esposito (guitar/vocals), Ryan Hater (keyboard), Sam Wilkerson (bass), Nick Wilkerson (drums), and Hunter Thompson (guitars). And so far they’ve graced the musical world with two EPs and two full length albums. If you haven’t heard of White Reaper yet, that’s cool. Because we’re about to save the day. White Reaper’s sound is absolutely unique, complete with catchy hooks and superb instrumentals that can’t help but make us want to have fun. So put on your party pants, because White Reaper has a new album on the way titled You Deserve Love.

Listen to White Reaper, Because You Deserve it.

If you are an avid alternative radio listener maybe you’ve heard some of the singles from their upcoming album. Maybe you’ve even been lucky enough to catch them on the road, they’ve spent the last year as a support on some similar sounding idols like The Killers and Weezer. Or perhaps you’ve caught them at one of several festival appearances.

While we haven’t been fortunate enough to catch them live yet, we have heard the singles from their upcoming album, You Deserve Love and we are stoked on it. The singles consist of songs “Real Long Time” and the most recent teaser “1F”. As well as our personal favorite (so far) “Might Be Right”. Just as we imagined, these songs make us feel GOOD. Dance around in your underwear (or fully clothed, whatever) GOOD. If you haven’t listened yet, DO IT (insert Shia LeBeouf meme).

The good news is, you won’t have to wait too long for your new favorites to deliver, because the album is dropping October 18th. What a day for music, considering Jimmy Eat World‘s new album drops the same day! While you wait, make sure to explore their entire discography. We’re certain you won’t regret it.

Jimmy Eat World Rocks Outs With New Album & Tour Announcement

What’s more exciting than a band we know and love announcing new music and tour dates? That’s right, NOTHING. Jimmy Eat World has been rocking out since 1993. Yeah, before some (most) of you were even born. These rocker vets from Meza, Arizona are about to grace us with a highly anticipated album titled Surviving, along with a tour that is hitting some special places along the US including, but not limited to New York, Florida, and Delaware.

It’s not often we get lucky enough to see bands we love celebrate doing music for 20 years, but this group has changed the game by doing just that. Collecting countless nominees from various awards, we can’t help but believe that their tenth (that’s right, we’re old) studio album will be just as award-worthy.

Jimmy Eat World Aims to Please

With classics like “Sweetness” and “The Middle”, pleasing all types of listeners, tracks like “Hear You Me” send you back into the high school rom-com era, and timeless jams like “Kill” satisfy our more obscure listeners. Jimmy Eat World aims to please all. We suspect that is exactly what they are striving for with this new album. We’d even go as far as to say we’re destined to be impressed.

Surviving is the first album from these guys in 3 years, making us more than intrigued about the sound it will carry. With singles likeLove Never and “Stay” our excitement only grows. These singles are compiled with loads of super catchy riffs, matched by lyrics we always are able to relate to. It only confirms they’re sure to produce an album we won’t be able to stop spinning.

The album drops October 18th 2019, so be sure to check it out for a killer emo-alt-rock combination. In the meantime, throw some new or old Jimmy Eat World into your daily rotation to get your fix until then.

Come With us as We Follow Halsey to the Graveyard

Halsey - Graveyard

On September 13th Halsey released her second single, “Graveyard” from her upcoming album Manic. Fans had patiently (well, as patient as fans can be) been waiting for a new single since “Nightmare” was released in May. A summer without a Halsey tour or a new single? We didn’t ask for that kind of summer.

Graveyard” is very different from the rough and tough vibes we got from “Nightmare.” Not that it’s surprising coming from Halsey. Because honestly, what can’t she do? This time the angry sound was put aside as “Graveyard” opens up with the calming sounds of an acoustic guitar. The strumming slowly fades into a softer pop melody. The lyrics, staying true to herself, aren’t as soft and calm. Halsey always keeps it real with her lyrics.

With this song, she takes us on an emotional journey through an abusive relationship with someone you love. That sometimes the ‘butterflies’ you are feeling are really a warning sign to run the opposite direction. To get out before you dig yourself too deep and follow someone “all the way to the graveyard.”

Along with this beautiful reminder to not let yourself get pulled in by the darkness surrounding someone else, we also FINALLY have a release date for Manic. The day before the song dropped, Halsey tweeted a link to manicthealbum.com with a time that signified when a livestream of her painting started. It went on for hours and fans watched in anticipation as she painted the album artwork for Manic. Now, the website is live and you can presave and preorder the album which will be released on January 17th!

Listen to “Graveyard” and watch a time-lapse video of Halsey painting the Manic artwork below!

Camila Cabello Announces New Album!

Camila Cabello has announced the release date of her sophomore album Romance! On August 31, Camila had posted visuals to tease fans of her upcoming album. Based on the message behind it, fans have taken the hint that a new project is in the works.

Similarly, Camila has just tweeted another video to her Twitter. The visual announces the drop of her sophomore album Romance. The 20-second clip gives the viewers the official release date and title of her album.

Despite the lack of context behind the video, the fans figured it out, and they have many positive things to say!

With her romance with Shawn Mendes and the passion shown in her teaser, we are sure that September 5th will be an emotional day for all of us! (In a good way, though.) Is it also possible that Shawn could be a motivation behind the album as well? Nevertheless, we are hoping to hear another Shawmila collab on the project!

While you are waiting for the release, you can watch Camila‘s new visual titled “What Do I Know About Love?” below! It will be helpful so you can understand the aesthetic and the possible meaning behind the album!

Hoodie Allen’s Whatever USA: Totally Satisfying

What is more satisfying than a rapper who also has killer pipes? One that is also fly as shit? Cool. Looks like Hoodie Allen has us covered. As if all of that doesn’t seem to totally satisfy you, we are sure Hoodie Allen‘s Whatever USA will do the trick. Dropped on August 16th, 2019 his newest release is a collection of nine solid tracks varying from quick witted rhymes to songs so lyrically crafted they make you want to cuddle your pillow in the dark.

Hangin’ with the “in crowd”

As if being friends with Ed Sheeran didn’t already give Hoodie Allen bonus points, the Long Island native made his way into the music scene as a student at the University of Pennsylvania (Anything Philly scores you mad cool points). In 2009, MTV selected him the ‘Best Music on Campus Award’ and he’s been on the radar ever since. Hoodie Allen has toured across the U.S, created his own label, and had countless features with some remarkable artists. Artists like Chance the Rapper, State Champs (swoon), and of course his pal Ed Sheeran, and that is just naming a few.

We can’t help but think that Hoodie Allen‘s Whatever USA is his favorite project so far. Calling this album a ‘rediscovery process of my true self‘, Hoodie makes it obvious that he wears his heart on his sleeve. He also makes it clear that he put it on the line to complete this album. He continually emphasizes the importance of unveiling your creativity and passion into whatever it is you love. Truly making Whatever USA an album for all. Whether you’re from a small town, had your heart smashed (and then taped back together, and then smashed again), are tired of the same old shit, or who just have a dream to do anything, you’re destined to find something relatable.

JAM-packed Album

This independent artist truly produces a JAM packed album, that he delivers on his own terms. So, let’s talk about the first single “Come Around” off the album ft. Christian French. Not only is it a catchy-make-you-feel-kickass-song, but it also displays Hoodie and French’s voices in an angels and harps type balance. Plus, who doesn’t like a song that tells your ex it’s too late and to piss off? We know we do.

Now, If we HAD to pick a favorite, it would hands down be “You Should Let Me Know”. It’s just damn good, and lyrically it SLAPS. (Check it out for yourself, if you don’t believe us.) But don’t get it twisted, all nine of these songs are absolute bops. We’d totally jam this entire album in the car. And, not alone twelve times in a row guilty pleasure type stuff, but in a car full of other human beings that we like. It’s worth it.

Be sure to catch Hoodie Allen‘s Whatever USA live as he tours North America this fall with Jake Miller to get an equal fix of eye and ear candy.

Jake Miller sends his “LAST TEXT”

Jake Miller's "LAST TEXT"

Singer, songwriter, and producer Jake Miller has delivered on his promise of a new single every two weeks this summer (and we can’t thank him enough). So far, Jake released “OCEAN AWAY” and “NERVOUS” (read all about it here). Jake has just bestowed his next gift on humanity: “LAST TEXT”. Thankfully for us, Jake Miller‘s “LAST TEXT” is another bop.

So here’s the lowdown (because we know you kinda want it): Jake Miller’s “LAST TEXT” is the third of five songs to be released this summer. The single is written by Jake with help from Slavo, Spencer Sutherland, and Scott Pelsang. The track is produced by Jake, Slavo, and Scott. Okay, enough with the facts. Let’s get to what we’re all truly interested in: the opinions (and Jake‘s hotness because we can’t and won’t get over that).

Jake is hot and so is this song.

Did you really think we could go a whole article without referencing Jake‘s superior genes at least once? “LAST TEXT” is best described in the words of Taylor: “a nightmare dressed like a daydream“. The vocals are amazing (pretty sure that’s Jake‘s M.O.) but we have to listen to his smooth, sweet voice BREAK UP WITH US.

A slight exaggeration.

Okay, not with us, but we’re still heartbroken. The problem, or rather, lack thereof, with “LAST TEXT”, is that it’s such a bop. We can’t live in a world (real or otherwise) in which Jake sends his last text to us. The song is amazing and gives us the strength to do so which really highlights the power of Jake Miller, folks. Do you need a hype up song to send your last text to that soul sucking gremlin in your life? Don’t lie. We know you just pictured someone as you read that. This is the song for you.
