5SOS 4 Is Coming. And We Are Not CALM About It.

5SOS 4 is finally coming with CALM. We are screaming. Nobody talk to us. We need time to process. CALM will be released in 50 days. Yes, we counted. Don’t judge us.

Yesterday, 5 Seconds Of Summer released a trailer for their upcoming album. Happiness can officially be packed into 1 minute 13 seconds.

The tracklisting for CALM will be as follows:

1. Red Desert
2. No Shame
3. Old Me
4. Easier
5. Teeth
6. Wildflower
7. Best Years
8. Not In The Same Way
9. Lover Of Mine
10. Thin White Lies
11. Lonely Heart
12. High

Not only can we get a deluxe version of CALM with vault versions of “Easier“, “Teeth” and “No Shame”, but there are also cassettes, hoodies, signed cards, and everyone’s favorite bucket hat. We’d advise you to get the Box Set Bundle, but we really want to get that ourselves before it sells out. So…

As the only band in chart history to see their first three full-length studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1, we expect nothing less from our favorite Australians this time around.

For a band to make it to four albums is no small feat in itself but to be reinventing and constantly pushing our songwriting and to come out with music that we’ve never been more proud of makes me so happy to be in 5 Seconds of Summer. CALM speaks on a journey through a young man’s life, for better or for worse. We are all human and all make mistakes, sometimes we hurt the ones we love and inevitably, ourselves in the process. CALM leaves the band in a much happier, unified and calm state of mind to continue making albums for years to come.

5SOS’s “Easier” Sounds Like Charlie Puth

The amazing shirts that 5SOS debuted on Friday seemed to be foreshadowing something, and look what we were recently blessed with! They gave us the new “Easier” Remix, featuring none other than Charlie Puth!

Puth even alluded to a remix before it dropped, but the release date was definitely a surprise for fans today as they opened music platforms worldwide at midnight to listen to the collaboration!

maybe we need to drop the remix?

A post shared by Charlie Puth (@charlieputh) on

With everyone saying how much of a ‘Puth’ sounding song 5SOS‘s newest single “Easier” was, and the fact the Puth also had a hand in writing and producing the track, it only makes sense that this collab came about. And we didn’t know we needed it this bad until right now.

It takes all the greatness of the original release and basically amplifies the falsetto. Luke Hemmings and Puth are definitely battling it out for the best high notes in this version of the song and we are LIVING for it.

Puth even adds his own verse to the beginning of the song, with the lyrics starting out, “Why you always looking at your phone/ watchin’ people you don’t even know/ I could lay here by myself alone, self alone (yeah)” instead of Hemmings‘ usual opening vocals.

After “Easier (Seeb Remix)” and “Easier Live from the Vault,” this is the 4th version of the single released as fans anxiously await the band’s second single, said to come out on the 23rd of August!

Despite the fact it’s not completely new material, fans are loving the new remix and many are super excited about 5 Seconds of Summer‘s newest collaboration!

Take a listen to 5SOS‘s “Easier” featuring Charlie Puth below, and let us know what you think!

5SOS Make Waiting for Their Next Single ‘Easier’

5 Seconds of Summer just dropped a re-imagined version of their most recent single, “Easier,” on all streaming platforms. The version was previously released via YouTube on Jul 5, 2019. It only took the band a month to bring “The Vault” to streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify.

The re-imagined version of “Easier” is more rock-based than the original, and fans are eating it up. This version was originally teased in the sneak peaks of the official music video, but was then opted out for the pop version. Ashton Irwin, drummer, tweeted in reference to the song’s different version.

When the single initially dropped back in May, fans were skeptical that it would sound good in a live rendition. Though the band did play it live during their radio stops and at a couple of festivals; it’s safe to say that we can expect to hear the Vault version played live from now on. — And it won’t end there, either!

“Easier” isn’t the only Vault version we’re going to be hearing from 5SOS. In fact, Irwin mentions that every single will have a re-imagined version. Could this mean we’re getting a Live From the Vault EP? We’re sure hoping so!

And while it’s technically not a new single, it will be enough to hold us over until 5SOS drop their next single on Aug 23. The single, currently titled “Track 1” on iTunes, will be released as part of the 13 Reasons Why season 3 soundtrack. Shortly after the release of the new single, 5SOS will be hitting the road for their co-headlining tour alongside The Chainsmokers. Can September 22 come any faster? We’re all waiting anxiously.

Until then, you can go listen to “Easier (Live From the Vault)” – which is out EVERYWHERE now – here.

The release today of “The Vault”, a darker, heavier version of 5 Seconds Of Summer‘s single “Easier“, has seen a new wave of murmuring amidst their fanbase about the band’s shift away from the Force and towards the Dark Side. Darth Vader is shook.

5SOS Are “Dancing With a Stranger” in Their Newest Cover

During their recent London promo tour, 5 Seconds of Summer visited the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for two amazing performances and a quick chat with host, Clara Amfo.  As they continue to travel the world performing their new single, “Easier,” we got a special cover thanks to BBC Radio One. 5SOS gave fans their version of Sam Smith and Normani’s “Dancing with a Stranger,” and let’s just say, it was absolutely breathtaking.

The band performed on a mat decorated with their icons that fans first saw during the release of “Easier.” When asked what they represent, Drummer, Ashton Irwin said, “They’re our personal icons, there’s four artists in the group obviously and we’re all extremely individual in what we want from this group. And I think different fans are attracted to different ideologies behind each member.”

Fans can look forward to seeing the mat in person because it looks like it may be making appearances! “I’d like to take this around the world with us though, and do other things with it,” said Irwin.

Before performing in the Live Lounge, the band was asked about their cover song where they mentioned that the track related to them lyrically and fit the best musically with what they are trying to do in this new era. During their rendition of the hit song, “Dancing with a Stranger,” the band switched it up some with bassist Calum Hood solely on the keyboard. Hood and lead singer, Luke Hemmings lead the verses on the song, while guitarist Michael Clifford and Irwin joined in perfectly during the chorus for a very god-like harmony.

Hood blew fans away with his take on Normani’s verse with many relishing the fact that the band decided to keep the song’s pronouns original to the lyrics. Ending the cover, the band broke out into a dreamy snippet of Disclosure’s “Latch” for a nice surprise twist.

5SOS also performed a flawless acoustic version of their newest single, “Easier!” Fans are loving the new song and all these live performances!

We can’t wait to see what the band has next in store as they venture over to their homeland next week for more promo!

5SOS make it Easier

Waiting for summer is always a tough gig, but 5 Seconds of Summer has made it “Easier” with their infectious track that’s a little synth, a little grunge and a whole lot of fun.

The track features some serious star power from chart topping artists like Charlie Puth and Ryan Tedder (One Republic) in its composition but 5SOS brings the vocal and melodic power to their first release with new label Interscope. While this song isn’t a strong departure from the sound they debuted with “Youngblood” in 2018, it’s a dramatically different statement from their earlier rebellious releases.

Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin, on bass and drums respectively, really get a chance to shine in the way they deliver the depth and grunge of this song. Their intense rhythm add the darkness that sets this track apart from a lot of current top 40 releases and allows the band to continue to push the limits of their sound. Melodic guitars lead by Michael Clifford and heady, foot tapping vocals from Luke Hemmings pull it all together to create magic.

With “Easier,” the quad has settled into a comfortable confidence that offers a sparking, sexy sonic. The drum line is a nod to Nine Inch Nails “Closer” and offers a weight to the airy pop notes. Hemmings teasing vocals pull you into a synthy groove reminiscent of late 90s R&B in all the right ways.

The video, released same day, amplifies the pulsing darkness of the peppy track with moody lighting and jarring scenery inside the caves of California. The aesthetic pulls on elements of earth, fire, water and air. This stark harmony is a fantastic representation of what they’ve done not only with “Easier“, but as the seamless whole they become when performing as 5 Seconds of Summer. If this track is the direction they’re headed with their upcoming (eventually) fourth studio album, I’m unquestioningly along for the ride.
