Yungblud “Parents” Video and New Tour

The English enigma, YUNGBLUD, delivers with a statement in Parents music video

YUNGBLUD scavenger hunt around the world

Yesterday was a big day for the fans of up-and-coming musician Dominic Harrison better known as YUNGBLUD released the highly anticipated music video for his song “Parents”, after leaving hints and surprises in a scavenger hunt around the world for fans to find.

With such blunt and controversial lyrics it’s no surprise that the music video delivered exactly that. From dancing on his own grave to homophobia to intercourse between a preacher and a teacher, he shows exactly what the lyrics tell you. No visual metaphor needed.

The video gives us a very early pop punk vibe with its fast movement, teen angst, satirical characters, and live performance. Think Blink-182, Sum 41 and Slim Shady all rolled together in a single video.

YUNGBLUD – Parents

Harrison is definitely this generation’s voice of the voiceless. He is known for speaking his mind on topics such as mental health, gun control and politics. In big letters in the video you can read

guns kill kids.
but can the kids kill the guns?

It’s an obvious fact that this young star will use the platform he is given to speak his opinions in hopes to encourage others to speak theirs.

While waiting for the official video, YUNGBLUD went to the YouTube chatroom and talked to his fans awaiting the release. Here is where he made the announcement of a North American Tour this fall called The Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club which shares the same name as his upcoming Graphic-Novel in collaboration with Z2 Comics.

Why Yungblud is the Fresh Air Music Needs

Sex, drugs, break-ups, and money. Now-a-days, that’s all we hear on the radio. Rarely we get that one song from an artists that’s so different, yet the artist cannot keep up with it. They fall back into the mainstream pattern.

Enter Domnic Harrison a 21 year-old musician from Doncaster, UK. With the stage name Yungblud, he entertains thousands around the globe with his intriguing sound and style. With his blend of hip hop, alt-rock, ska, and pop. Yungblud is a storm of his own, and he’s only getting started.

His sound isn’t the only thing drawing fans in. His words are just as captivating. Yungblud is known for being very open about his mental health and struggles that he faces. With songs like “Medication”, “Loner”, and the newly released “Parents” the rapper holds nothing back. Yungblud takes music to another level, tackling the topics of Depression, Anxiety, Bi-Polar Disorder, and Paranoia.  With inspirations like Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson, and Eminem, it’s no surprise that the young rapper speaks whatever is on his mind.

Yungblud is the type of artist that will be featured on both Pop Top-40 radio as well as Alt-Rock radio, which is rare for artists. His collaboration with Pop-Star Halsey, 11 minutes, put him on the map in mainstream radio. Since then, he has blown up. He recently released a song “I think I’m Okay” in collaboration with fellow rapper MGK and the drummer of Blink-182, Travis Barker. This song is expected to crush alt-radio numbers sending him cross platform.

Other than his multi-genre music, Yungblud expresses himself through his unique style. With a Masculine Androgyny, Yungblud can rock anything from a dress to a suit and no one dares to question it. His music and style together makes seeing him an experience in its own.

With an expected album later this year and a current tour, Yungblud is a force to be reckoned with.

Endgame’s End

April 26th, 2019 the world experienced something never before seen in Cinematic history. In one night, records were broken and made, lives were changed forever, and a 10-year story concluded. Avengers: Endgame.

The fourth Avengers installment shattered records around the world. Starting with the record for the highest number of pre-sale tickets sold in AMC, Atom, and Fandango history. Within the first hour of sales, eager fans even managed to crash the Fandango website. Highly surpassing the previous record holder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Throughout its running time, Endgame has managed to achieve the record for the highest grossing opening weekend, coming in at $1.223 billion dollars. Followed by the shattering record of fastest movie to reach $2 billion in just 11 days!

Originally, it was thought that Endgame would easily surpass Avatar for the highest grossing film of all time. However, it seems that is not the case as the Endgame theatrical run comes to an end. As of right now, Endgame has a total grossing of $2.742 billion, sitting just under Avatar whose grossing is at $2.788 billion. With multiple shocking plot deaths (and revivals) it is unclear exactly what is to come next in the MCU.

Here’s what we do know.

Far From Home / Marvel Studios

July 2nd, 2019 will be the official end of Phase 3 for the MCU, with Spider-Man: Far From Home.  While we say goodbye to the Avengers we know, we get to experience a whole new band of heroes trying to save the world. With Disney’s new acquisition of 20th Century Fox, they now have X-Men and the Fantastic Four to play with.

Recently, Disney released their greatly anticipated film schedule for the next 4 years. On it you can see that there are 8 untitled Marvel films set to come out, giving us at least 2 Marvel films a year! We can expect to see sequels, breakout movies, and possibly an Avengers 5.

On top of this, Disney’s streaming service Disney+ is set to release in November of this year. Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, has already announced that this service will be the home to multiple original Marvel Shows. These shows will feature the original actors from the MCU making fans even more excited to see this continuation of Marvel. Some already announced shows are the Loki Series, The Falcon & Winter Soldier, Wanda/Vision and Hawkeye

Information about the future of Marvel is under lock and key, but as they slowly get released we will be sure to keep a hawk’s eye on spoilers and updates!
