5SOS Still Sound Just as Good 4 Years Later

5 Seconds of Summer are celebrating the fourth birthday of their sophomore album, Sounds Good, Feels Good. And we’re here to tell you that it still sounds just as good.

5SOS‘ album hit number one in eight countries, making it their first number one album in the UK. This album also solidified their placement on the US charts, being the first band to have their first two full-length albums debut at number one. Rock Sound praised the album, even ranking it 31 on their Top 50 Albums of 2015.

But no chart placement or accolades, nor critical reception could ever compare to what really made this album special; the fans. This album somehow just came out at the right time for just about everyone. For the band, for the fans, for the world. With songs like “Outer Space/Carry On,” “Jet Black Heart,” and “Invisible,” this album touches our souls in different ways. It doesn’t matter which is your go to cry song or which is the one you listen to on repeat when it feels like the world is heavy on your shoulders – Sounds Good Feels Good was a gift to fans all over.

The album came out during a dark time for guitarist, Michael Clifford, who has since been open about his struggle with mental illness. The third single, “Jet Black Heart” has proven to be important to him, and the fans. The music video shows clips of fans from different parts of the world, all of their stories posted to the official 5SOS website.

As we approach the four year anniversary of the album, we look back on some of the best parts of it. Fans are able to reminisce and share their favorite memories through hashtags on Twitter, such as #4YearsofSGFG. They’ve started a trend of sharing their stories and personal struggles with mental health issues, giving insight to what these songs truly mean to them.

So, if you haven’t – give the album a listen. And if you have, then give it another listen. Play it full volume in your car until your speakers break, let the lyrics sink into your brain until you have a headache. Play and replay these songs, let them become the soundtrack to your life.

Don’t forget to tell us what your favorite one was!

Justin Bieber Opens Up to Fans in Revealing Instagram Post

Justin Bieber got real about his life in a detailed Instagram post on Monday. The singer spoke about difficulties and obstacles he’s had to overcome from being in the spotlight at such a young age. These difficulties led Bieber to spiral. It doesn’t come as a shock to fans when he writes about not growing up in a stable home, since he’s written a multitude of songs on the topic.

Bieber was discovered when he was only 13, which is still too young to maneuver in the industry; even harder when it can feel like you’re doing it all by yourself. He writes, “have u noticed the statistics of child stars and the outcome of their life. There is an insane pressure and responsibility put on a child who’s brain, emotions, frontal lobes (decision making) aren’t developed yet.”

He found himself with no real world skills, millions of dollars, and access to whatever he needed 24/7 around the clock. Justin Bieber opens up about how he started abusing heavy drugs at only nineteen years old.

He wrote, “I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused al my relationships. I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me, and I was hiding behind a shell of a person that I had become.”

Redeeming Himself

Bieber also made it a point to discuss his past scandals, even going as far as to say that by 20 he was one of the most hated people in the world.

“By 20, I made every bad decision you could have thought of and went from one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged, and hated person in the world.”

Luckily the singer has found someone to be there for every last bit of the journey. His wife, Hailey Baldwin, has been standing by his side every step of the way. Bieber praised his marriage and reflects on how she’s made him a better person. He states, “you learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility, and all of the things it looks like to be a good man.”

Bieber closed out the Instagram post by saying, “even when the odds are against you, keep fighting. […] Be kind today, be bold today, and love people today, not by your standards but by God’s perfect unfailing love.”

We’re not sure what’s next for Justin in terms of the music world, since he announced his break from the industry in March. But whatever it is, we’re going to support him and his decisions. It takes a lot to post all of that on social media, especially with millions of people waiting to watch him fail.

But that Insta post had us all like…

Ariana Grande Celebrates 6 Years of “Yours Truly”

Ariana Grande graced our ears with her debut album over half a decade ago. Her first album, Yours Truly, went No. 1 shortly after the singer released it. She captured our hearts with songs like “Honeymoon Ave,” “You’ll Never Know,” and “Tattooed Heart.”

The studio album was released on September 3, 2013 and features 12 songs. The album incorporates a flare of R&B, and is heavily influenced by the likes of Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, and Mariah Carey.

In an interview about the release of the album, Grande says, “it’s going to be like pages lifted from my diary. It’s very honest and personal.” Yours Truly is the result of three years of blood, sweat, and tears. However, it was worth every last minute of it.

Yours Truly was Grande’s foot in the door, and she leaped with singles like “The Way” ft. Mac Miller, “Baby I,” and “Right There” ft Big Sean. Following after was the promotional single “Almost Is Never Enough” which featured Nathan Sykes of The Wanted.

In a Twitter post, Grande tells fans that this album has “so much of [her] heart.” Since her debut album, Grande has went on to release 5 albums in 6 years. Her most recent being Sweetener and thank u, next.

Did You Know: Ariana‘s debut album was almost titled Daydreamin‘. The title was later changed because Grande decided that the album felt like a love letter she wanted to sign.

Did You Know: The official cover was of Grande kneeling in pink roses but due to negative feedback the cover was quickly swapped for the black and white spotlight cover.

Kingdom Hearts III DLC Trailer Set for September 9

Kingdom Hearts III is set to have a new trailer for the downloadable content “Re:Mind.” Square Enix will release the trailer on September 9 at 11AM EST / 8AM PST. “Re:Mind” is due out this winter, and if you missed the official trailer for it back in June you can watch it here.

There’s not too much known about the upcoming DLC, other than that we’ll finally be able to play as Roxas again. The official Twitter for Kingdom Hearts shared that a new trailer will release next week. What it could contain… we’re not really sure. What we ARE hoping for is some clarity, or maybe just a voiceover so it looks like Square put in any kind of effort. At the very least, we really want a release date.

It’s extremely likely that a release date will be given only because it’s supposed to launch sometime this year and we’re running out of days. The DLC was revealed earlier this year, the trailer in June, and that’s all we know about “Re:Mind” so far. Fans have a theory that Square Enix will show off the Kingdom Hearts III DLC at Tokyo Game Show 2019.

Kingdom Hearts III is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The upcoming DLC is set to release at some point this winter. For PlayStation users, you can pick up a copy of Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far at any local store that carries video games if you wanna keep up with all the action. Xbox users, we’re so sorry.

Ariana Grande Might Be the Reason Forever 21 is Bankrupt

Ariana Grande recently filed a $10 million trademark lawsuit against Forever 21. She accuses the retailer of trademark infringement for stealing her name and likeness in order to promote its products. Not to mention promoting the products of a beauty company started by its founders daughters. It’s safe to say that Ms. Grande might be the reason Forever 21 has filed for bankruptcy. Just kidding. Kinda.

Grande accuses Forever 21 alongside the Riley Rose beauty company of publishing at least 30 unauthorized images and videos; those of which misappropriate her name, image, likeness, and music to confuse and persuade consumers into believing she endorsed them.

This follows the February breakdown of talks to create a joint marketing campaign. Forever 21 would not pay the singer enough, so Grande chose to walk on the deal. She claims Forever 21 deceived consumers by hiring a model who looks similar to her, as well as using audio and lyrics from her recent single “7 Rings”.

A complaint filed in California federal court states that Forever 21 contacted Grande‘s representatives in anticipation of her latest album, looking forward to sparking an endorsement deal. Grande asserts that the market value for even a single Instagram post is “well into the six figures.” The deal was never given the green light because the amount that Forever 21 offered was insufficient for an artist of her stature.

Forever 21 has a history of using knockoffs, though this time they took it one step further. The model wore the hairstyle and accessories that she did in her music video for “7 Rings”. The audio used for promotion was also from her song. Forever 21 hasn’t commented yet.

Overwatch Rumored to Come to Nintendo Switch

The Amazon listing for an Overwatch Switch case may have just leaked that the game will be seeing a different platform sometime soon. The carrying case was pulled from Amazon‘s server shortly after it was initially posted.

The black and orange case sported the Overwatch logo and the accessory was noted to be ‘officially licensed by Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment.’ PowerA briefly listed the carrying case on Amazon before the product was removed, though pictures were posted to Twitter and Resetera.

There have been rumors for quite some time about whether or not Blizzard would take their game to the next platform, but they were just that; rumors. If the carrying case gives any sort of insight, players can look forward to a different way of playing Overwatch. (And being able to play the game on the go.) Blizzard has not officially announced a port for Switch, though game director Jeff Kaplan addressed the possibility in 2017.

Kaplan was optimistic but said that the adaptation would be ‘challenging.’ In a Reddit AMA session, Kaplan stated, “Getting the game on the Switch is very challenging for us. But we’re always openminded about exploring possible platforms.” This follows BlizzardsDiablo 3 Eternal Collection advancing to the Switch in 2018.

With Blizzcon 2019 set for November, only time will tell if players will finally get to see their favorite heroes on the handheld device. (Though a Reddit user is now claiming that the release date is set for October 18.)

Final Fantasy VIII Leads Players to Switch

At E3 this year, Square Enix‘s live event confirmed suspicions that Final Fantasy VIII Remastered would come to the Switch. The release date has finally been announced. The title will be released to the Nintendo Switch and multiple other platforms on September 3.

Final Fantasy VIII is based off of the 1999 PlayStation original. The remastered game has new graphic enhancements, along with brand new options and mechanics that make the game run smoother. The players will now be able to customize their gameplay experience.

Square Enix dropped a release date reveal trailer on their YouTube channel. Get ready to reunite with friends and define the course of time; this time YOU decide how you play with Final Fantasy VIII Remastered.

The remastered edition enhances the original aspect and adventures of the game, along with new features. We can look forward to:

  • Enhanced visuals. Several characters, enemies, and objects have been refined.
  • Battle Assist. Activate this booster in order to max out your HP and ATB bars, trigger Limit Breaks at any time. You will lose all HP when you get hit by a critical attack that gives more damage than your HP, or by lethal damage.
  • No encounters. This prohibits random encounters. Event battles still have to be completed in order for the story to advance, but you can explore without encountering enemies.
  • 3x speed boost. If you’re looking to speed up the game, or at the very least speed through easy battles, this feature is perfect. It accelerates time by a factor of 3, allowing you to get somewhere in a hurry. This feature won’t work with select scenes and movies.

Final Fantasy 8 is the Best Looking Game Here

The Final Fantasy 8 reboot has been a long time coming, but Square Enix gave fans a preview of what they’re in store for. Except, this time it was in the form of a meme.

Instead of letting us drool over another trailer, or giving us another look at the new visuals – Square decided it was more appropriate to give us exactly what we wanted. Final Fantasy recreated a fan favorite scene, and when we say ‘favorite’ we’re using it loosely. PS1 Squall was not looking too good. For reference, this is what we’re talking about:

Oh, how the times have changed. With higher resolution character models, and new very visible faces, the game developers did not come to play. The preview below gives us insight on what’s to come.

The Final Fantasy 8 remaster follows the news of developers recreating the seventh game within the series. Game developers for the seventh game have said that their focus is to modernize the RPG classic. This means that it was not to ‘just make a one-for-one copy.’ They plan to reimagine the first installment and delve deeper into the nostalgia. Yoshinori Kitase, producer, says, “we wanted to go beyond the original and tell the story in a much deeper way, write a much more modern and fresh game experience.” The remake is confirmed to focus more on the characters, their storylines, and the development of each of their personalities.

Final Fantasy 8 remaster will be released on September 3, 2019, and available to users on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Final Fantasy 7 remake will be released on March 3, 2020, and available to users on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
