Halloween Cinema: Slightly Scary Edition

It’s coming up on the best time of year, Halloween!

It’s never too early to get into the spooky spirit. If you’re not super into horror but you like a soft scare, this is for you. So grab some friends, shut off the lights and get comfy. MDRN MAG proudly presents Halloween Cinema: Slightly Scary Edition.

Scream Movie Series

Scream is the perfect PG-13 scary movie to start out with. It’s a perfect blend of comedy and suspense to get you a little spooked but still be able to sleep at night. What’s your favorite scary movie?

Scary Movie Series

The Scary Movie series is a parody series made to spoof other scary movies. It’s made with very few jump scares, and is mainly a comedy. It’s the ultimate starter film – though it may contain spoilers for other movies you want to see.

Cabin In The Woods

This movie is pure gold! It’s a beautiful blend of satire and stereotypes that plays into every movie buff’s horror movie dream.

Friday The 13th Movie Series

The classic slasher flick. This is the perfect way to start out with blood and gore. And yes, we’re just going to forget that Jason X happened. Just forget that one exists.

Nightmare On Elm Street Movie Series

Freddy is Jason’s counterpart. They compliment each other so well. While Jason is quiet and slick, Freddy is sarcastic and absolutely ruthless. F.Y.I. this one may cause slight sleep deprivation.

Paranormal Activity Movie Series

Because of its home-video security camera style filming, this film gives you a more believable aspect, making it slightly more unsettling to watch. This June it was announced that a 7th installment will soon start production soon.

Donnie Darko

Donnie Darko is one of those movies that will leave you thinking about it for weeks after seeing it. Though not necessarily scary, it is definitely suspenseful and unsettling.
