Two days after the tragedy in El Paso, Texas, Grammy-award winning artist, Khalid announced a benefit concert in support of his home town. And, we all know how much he loves and tries to support his city.
Tweeting, “Singing ‘915′ and ‘city of El Paso’ on tour every night feels indescribable,” the singer announced that he had been “thinking of ways to help out and support the city.”
Named “A Night for Suncity,” the show will be held on the 1st of September at the Don Haskins Arena in El Paso. This concert will directly benefit those affected by the horrible events that took place earlier this week.
According to the website for the event, “proceeds from the concert will directly support the victims of the horrific act of gun violence that the El Paso community recently experienced.” There has been no other information provided about the benefit concert thus far.
Khalid has already been doing all he can to give back to the community with the Great Khalid Foundation, and he has active programs supporting students, their educations and the arts.
We can’t wait to to see the support from the city, and the country, as they come together to help those affected by this horrible act of violence.
