Endgame’s End

Endgame’s End

April 26th, 2019 the world experienced something never before seen in Cinematic history. In one night, records were broken and made, lives were changed forever, and a 10-year story concluded. Avengers: Endgame.

The fourth Avengers installment shattered records around the world. Starting with the record for the highest number of pre-sale tickets sold in AMC, Atom, and Fandango history. Within the first hour of sales, eager fans even managed to crash the Fandango website. Highly surpassing the previous record holder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Throughout its running time, Endgame has managed to achieve the record for the highest grossing opening weekend, coming in at $1.223 billion dollars. Followed by the shattering record of fastest movie to reach $2 billion in just 11 days!

Originally, it was thought that Endgame would easily surpass Avatar for the highest grossing film of all time. However, it seems that is not the case as the Endgame theatrical run comes to an end. As of right now, Endgame has a total grossing of $2.742 billion, sitting just under Avatar whose grossing is at $2.788 billion. With multiple shocking plot deaths (and revivals) it is unclear exactly what is to come next in the MCU.

Here’s what we do know.

July 2nd, 2019 will be the official end of Phase 3 for the MCU, with Spider-Man: Far From Home.  While we say goodbye to the Avengers we know, we get to experience a whole new band of heroes trying to save the world. With Disney’s new acquisition of 20th Century Fox, they now have X-Men and the Fantastic Four to play with.

Recently, Disney released their greatly anticipated film schedule for the next 4 years. On it you can see that there are 8 untitled Marvel films set to come out, giving us at least 2 Marvel films a year! We can expect to see sequels, breakout movies, and possibly an Avengers 5.

On top of this, Disney’s streaming service Disney+ is set to release in November of this year. Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, has already announced that this service will be the home to multiple original Marvel Shows. These shows will feature the original actors from the MCU making fans even more excited to see this continuation of Marvel. Some already announced shows are the Loki Series, The Falcon & Winter Soldier, Wanda/Vision and Hawkeye

Information about the future of Marvel is under lock and key, but as they slowly get released we will be sure to keep a hawk’s eye on spoilers and updates!
